Easter in Portland

We had a great Easter this year. On Saturday we met some friends and had a blast running in the Easter Egg Hunt at Alpenrose Dairy. Michael and his little girlfriend Kyla stuck together and got a lot of eggs in their race. The Dairy also holds the Mommy Easter Egg Hunt where they give away diamond earrings! I couldn't pass that one up so I of course pushed my way thru along with my friends Lisa and Michele. I tell you what, it was like a mad rush of hundreds of women pushing, shoving, tripping over each other. Basically it was a cross between NFL and WWF and it only lasted about 10 seconds. It was amazing how hundreds of eggs could be picked up in such a short amount of time. In the end we came home with a couple pounds of chocolate eggs, a Frisbee (won by Hayden) and a $10 gift certificate for Applebee's won by me. Not to mention some fun memories.

On Easter Sunday we stayed home and had a great time just being together. The boys hunted for their Easter baskets. It was so cute watching Hayden when he found his basket. He didn't know what to make of it but he knew what to do with the chocolate bunny he got. Michael found his a lot faster than I thought he would I thought I hid it pretty good but next year I'll try harder. Since it was raining outside (go figure), we had our personal Easter Egg hunt indoors. It was fun anyway and there were tons of places to hide the eggs. Lovely pic of me isn't it? I had just climbed out of bed... Not as scary as I would have thought. It's funny but if you want to get even one picture of a special moment of children in sheer delight on Christmas or Easter Morning you have to be prepared to run at a moments notice and run the risk of capturing yourself on film pant-less and makeup-less.

In the afternoon Mike took Michael to see Horten Hears a Who for the second time and we made a family decision to finally go buy the PlayStation3! We would have bought it yesterday but the entire world was closed for Easter, again, go figure. So, we searched on line to get the best deal and next Saturday we'll go get it. We can't wait! If anyone has any tips on good games please feel free to comment!

What a great blog! The boys are getting soooo big. It sounds like you all are having some great adventures. Your plans for the summer sound particularly idyllic.

Ps3!!!! You are so stoked, I have been wanting one for a while, I have 360 but the Ps3 is next on my list...

Games I would get for the Ps3...

1)Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
kind of a cross between Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Carribean and a standard platformer. It has some of the best graphics out there.
2)Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction
Modern Update of the classic platformer, R and C is a super fun, light hearted game, good puzzles, and world exploration. More kid freindly.
3) Devil May Cry4: I hack and slash classic, good stuff.
4) Ninja Gaiden Sigma:
Hard core hack and slash. In my opinion, one of the best of the genre, originally for the Xbox but ported for the Ps3 with some added features. Superb animation and combat, very hard boss battles, not so much of a kids game.
5) Guitar Hero 3... just get it.

There are more and more games coming out for the Ps3 now, check out www.ign.com or www.gamespot.com for reviews. You can also rent them first to see how much you like them before you plunk down the scoobies for a game you are not sure about. I think you can rent indefinety on Netflix...

happy gaming.
